RAPID CREEK TERRACE HOMES

Rapid Creek Terrace Homes 1

Description

The Terraces project aims to deliver 10 two-storey terrace homes along Rapid Creek Road in Darwin. The site overlooks the Jingili Water Gardens and represents an innovative new approach to urban renewal, that not only resolves flooding issues to existing properties along Rapid Creek Road, but creates unique “industrial lux” open-plan homes.

Each 290m2 home is constructed over two levels on a freehold title and has a distinctive street elevation providing a unique appearance. Private parking is accessed from a shared rear driveway, providing an unobstructed façade off Rapid Creek Road with clear views of the lush parklands and Jingili Water Park beyond.

The development required the purchase and amalgamation of three separate properties whose development were commercially inviable in isolation. The redevelopment strategy therefore focuses on providing for a development consistent with the density outcomes sought for the Zone LMR (low-medium Density Residential) to create architecturally designed 2-story Tropical Terrace style homes, delivered via a contemporary freehold subdivision model.

To seek inspiration for this development, RCTH has reviewed best practice, award winning terrace home developments form across Australia and by using local designers, town planners and builders has formulated a true Top End inspired design outcome that seeks to capture Darwin’s tropical living at its finest.
