DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Darwin Civic Centre

Darwin Civic Centre

Description

The City of Darwin is looking to redevelop the Civic Centre to provide an iconic home for the City of Darwin Council offices and community facilities. The building should reflect a Town Hall concept, enshrine the history of Darwin, promote local Territory tourism and recognise the local Larrakia people. The inclusion of commercial space similar to a plaza with connectivity to the adjacent public open spaces, additional parking for events, exhibition and public event spaces will be imagined in a cohesive design.

The Tree of Knowledge located on the site provides an opportunity to create a truly unique public, commercial and retail market space. The tree is a declared heritage place and as such must be protected.

The City of Darwin is seeking to develop the project under a Public Private Partnership arrangement with suitably experienced developer or group capable of delivering the Project in its entirety.
